Vijay Alagarraj

Vijay Alagarraj has over 18 years of professional experience in software engineering, product development, and database administration. Vijay began their career in 2002 as a Graduate Assistant at the Imaging, Robotics and Intelligent Systems Lab at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In 2004, they were a Systems Engineer at Panasonic Automotive Systems. From 2005 to 2009, they were a Database Administrator and Developer at the City of Atlanta (Khafra Engineering). Vijay then worked as a Technical Manager and Solution Architect at Photo Science Inc. from 2009 to 2013. From 2013 to 2018, they were a Software Development Manager at Quantum Spatial. In 2018, they became a Software Engineering Director at AVITRU. In 2019, they were a Director of Engineering at Deltek, where they created their first cloud native SaaS platform called Specpoint. Currently, they are the Chief Executive Officer and Vice President of Engineering at Inertia Systems.

Vijay Alagarraj obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from the University of Madras between 1997 and 2001. Vijay then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Computer & Electrical Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville between 2002 and 2003. In 2006, they obtained an Oracle DBA certification from Oracle. In 2007, they obtained a Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) certification from the GIS Certification Institute (GISCI) and an ArcSDE certification from Esri. In 2013, they obtained an Amazon Web Services (AWS) - Solution Architect certification from Amazon Web Services. In 2015, they obtained a Certified ScrumMaster certification from the Scrum Alliance. In 2018, they obtained an Azure Fundamentals certification from Microsoft. In 2020, they obtained a Machine Learning: From Data to Decisions certification from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
