Paolo Romano

Paolo Romano is an Associate Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico with experience dating back to 2011, previously serving as an Assistant and Invited Assistant Professor. Concurrently, Paolo holds a Senior Researcher position at INESC-ID in the Distributed Systems Group, focusing on cloud computing, dependable data replication, QoS management, and self-optimization. Notable past roles include Chair of the COST Action Euro-TM, which received substantial funding for research on transactional memories, and Coordinator of the Cloud-TM EU FP7 project, a significant initiative supported by the European Commission. Paolo has also contributed to academia as a Lecturer at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" and conducted research on dependable infrastructures for RFID systems. Paolo's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Sapienza Università di Roma and an MS in Computer Engineering from the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
