Padraic Flood

Director Of Science at INFARM

Padraic Flood has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Padraic is currently working at INFARM as the Head of Crop Genetics since February 2023, having previously held the position of Team Lead Crop Genetics from August 2021 to February 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Scientist at Wageningen University & Research from May 2020 to August 2021, focusing on the potential of orphan crops and wild species using genomics.

Padraic also has experience as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research from February 2016 to April 2020 and as a Postdoctoral Fellow from September 2014 to January 2016. Padraic completed their Ph.D. at Wageningen University from July 2009 to September 2014.

Before their academic and research career, Padraic had a Student Bursary position at the Marine Institute in 2008 and participated in the UREKA Undergraduate Research Experience and Knowledge Award program at University College Dublin in 2007.

Padraic Flood earned their Bachelor of Science (BSc) Honours degree in Botany/Plant Biology from University College Dublin, which they attended from 2004 to 2008. Padraic later pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Plant Sciences at Wageningen University & Research, completing their studies from 2009 to 2015.
