Senior Director, Government Portfolio at Informa Tech

Caroline Hicks has a diverse and extensive work experience in the events and media industry. Caroline started their career as an Event Coordinator and then moved on to become a Conference Producer at Incisive Media. Caroline worked there from April 2010 to December 2011.

In 2012, Caroline joined Informa Telecoms & Media as a Senior Conference Researcher. Caroline then held a series of roles including Research Manager, Conference Manager, Editor, and Head of Research for VSAT and Wireless & Access Events, and finally as the Head of TV Connect Global Events. Caroline worked at Informa Telecoms & Media from 2012 to 2015.

Caroline then joined NewBay Media as the Events Director - Europe from November 2015 to June 2017. Caroline was later promoted to the role of Events & Marketing Director from June 2017 to May 2018.

In 2018, Caroline joined Future plc as the Events Director. Caroline expanded the events portfolio and managed various conferences and awards in markets such as Music, Broadcasting, Pro AV, Education, and Pro Audio. Caroline worked at Future plc till August 2019.

Currently, Caroline holds the position of Senior Director, Government Portfolio at Informa Tech, a division of Informa Plc. Caroline leads the Government Portfolio within the Government & Manufacturing team, overseeing media sites and an intelligence service in the healthcare technology sector.

Caroline Hicks obtained a First Class BA Hons degree in Ancient History and Archaeology from Newcastle University, where they studied from 2004 to 2007. Caroline then pursued an MSc in First Millennium Studies at The University of Edinburgh from 2007 to 2008. Later, in 2017 and 2018, they completed the Google Squared Digital Marketing Leadership Course at Squared Online, focusing on Marketing/Marketing Management, General.
