Senior Manager for the Americas at ITI

Husani Durans de Jesus serves as Senior Manager for the Americas on the Policy team. Husani has over seven years of experience with policy and market regulation analysis across the Americas region. Before joining ITI, Husani worked at FTI Consulting, implementing advocacy efforts and providing strategic advice to clients facing complex cross-border issues in Latin American markets such as Mexico, Chile, Colombia, and Brazil. This included trade negotiations, dispute settlements, government investigations, M&A, restructuring, and adverse policy and regulations.

He has previously worked at several Brazilian government bodies, including the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Brasília and the Embassy of Brazil in Washington DC, where he monitored trade policy for strategy formulation, provided research support for written submissions and oral statements related to trade disputes at the World Trade Organization of which Brazil was a party, and assisted with official government communications.

Husani is also a coordinator at the Afro-Brazilians in Government Affairs Association, a group focused on proposing and implementing initiatives to increase diversity and inclusion in the government affairs workforce in Brazil.

Husani holds an MA from American University School of International Service in International Economic Relations and a BA from the Centro Universitário de Brasília in International Relations. He is fluent in Portuguese and proficient in Spanish.
