Amr Safwat

Amr M.E. Safwat serves as the Dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Nile University since September 2022 and simultaneously manages the Information Technology Academia Collaboration (ITAC) Department at the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) since November 2016, focusing on enhancing collaboration between the Egyptian ICT industry and academia. Their academic career includes roles as Professor and Chair of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Ain Shams University from March 2018 to August 2022, where Amr has progressed through various academic ranks since joining in 1993. Additionally, Amr has held adjunct and visiting professor positions at several prestigious institutions, including Zewail City of Science and Technology and Aalto University. Their educational background includes a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland and multiple degrees from Ain Shams University, establishing a strong foundation in electronics and communication.
