Teresa Afonso

Teresa Afonso is an experienced professional in sustainability and environmental management, currently serving as Head of Sustainability and Environment at Infraestruturas de Portugal since October 2016. In this role, Teresa coordinates the environmental sustainability strategy and improvement programs within the organization. Previously, Teresa held positions such as Executive Board Member of IP Património, S.A. and Head of Department for Organizational Development, Project and Quality at Estradas de Portugal, where Teresa focused on project management and organizational efficiency. Teresa's earlier experiences include consulting in quality, health, safety, and environmental systems, as well as roles in quality assurance and procurement. Teresa has a diverse educational background with degrees in strategic leadership, general management, and industrial production engineering.
