Bruno Gomes has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Their most recent role was as the Head of Environment and Sustainability at the Automóvel Club de Portugal since April 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Technical Committee Expert at the Portuguese Institute of Quality - IPQ starting from November 2018. Bruno also has a background in music, as they co-founded the Quarteto Opus 28 and worked as a violinist since 2003. In terms of their previous professional experience, they worked at Garland as a Sustainability Manager from September 2021 to March 2023, and before that, they held the position of Continuous Improvement and Innovation Manager from December 2018 to March 2023. Bruno also served as a Climate Impact Assessment Fellow at the MIT Climate CoLab from March 2015 to August 2022. Bruno has also worked as a Quality Director at Tecnisata Industrial Group from May 2017 to November 2018 and as a Quality and Environment Technician at GEFCO from December 2012 to May 2017. Additionally, Bruno worked as a Consultant and Trainee at E.Value - Environment and Economics, S.A. from September 2009 to August 2011.
Bruno Gomes' education history begins in 2001 when they enrolled at NOVA School of Science and Technology, where they pursued a BSc and MSc in Environmental Engineering. Bruno completed this program in 2010.
In 2012, Bruno Gomes attended the Fundação Luso-Americana para o Desenvolvimento - FLAD and participated in the Summer Institute on Global Environmental Issues.
The following year, in 2013, they studied Quality Management at EVOLUI.
In 2014, Bruno Gomes obtained certifications from SGS Portugal in ISO 50001 - Energy Management Systems Implementation and from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in Climate Change.
Bruno continued to expand their expertise in 2014 by completing the Mini MBA Lean Services Management program at CLT Services.
In 2016, Bruno Gomes pursued further training in Quality Management by acquiring certification as a Certified Quality Internal Auditor for ISO 9001:2015 from APCER.
After a gap in their education, Bruno Gomes attended Porto Business School in 2020 for the Open Executive Programme in Problem Solving and Decision Making.
Concurrently, in the same year, they undertook training in Six Sigma Black Belt at CLT Services, which they completed in 2021.
In terms of additional certifications, Bruno Gomes became a Climate Reality Leader through The Climate Reality Project in July 2020. Bruno also holds certifications as a Certified Automotive Quality Internal Auditor - IATF 16949:2016 from SGS (obtained in February 2018), a Certified Environmental Internal Auditor - ISO 14001:2015 from APCER (obtained in February 2017), and a Certified Professional Trainer from Nova Etapa (obtained in 2012).
