CEO Payone at Ingenico

In various management posts, he played a major part in transforming the card business of the then Telekurs Card Solutions Ltd. into a customer-centric, competitive service provider. As Managing Director, he internationalised the business from 2004 onwards and shaped the company into a relevant European player in merchant acquiring and processing.

Niklaus Santschi, who hails from Switzerland, was CEO of SIX Payment Services and a member of management of SIX Group AG from 2012, in which capacity he was responsible for further expansion and ongoing internationalisation of all card and processing business and created a lasting foundation for SIX’ growth strategy by means of innovation, acquisition and integration.

As part of his successful activity, he held various seats on boards of directors and international bodies in the payment business.

From 2015 on, Niklaus Santschi acted as a consultant for prestigious international companies and start-ups in the fintech and payment sectors. That included an engagement as Senior Advisor Financial Technology at Permira Advisors LLP in London until 2017.

In January 2017, he took over as CEO at B+S Card Service GmbH, Frankfurt, which merged with the Kiel-based service provider PAYONE GmbH to create BS PAYONE GmbH, one of the leading European full-service providers for cashless payment solutions, in August 2017 with retroactive effect from 1 January 2017.

Following the official merger of Ingenico Payment Services GmbH and other Ingenico companies in the DACH region with BS PAYONE GmbH on 17 June 2019 to create PAYONE GmbH, Niklaus Santschi has been CEO of the joint venture, in which Ingenico Group has a 52-percent and Deutscher Sparkassenverlag (DSV) a 48-percent stake.
