How you’ll be impactful:

As a Senior UX Designer, you will define and design customer and advisor experiences for our core digital products that drive acquisition, engagement, retention and loyalty. You will also partner and collaborate with the Product Manager, Engineering Lead and QE Lead in your product pod to understand customer problems and build delightful experiences that help connect customers to advisors and achieve positive outcomes. Finally, you will work with the UX Director to manifest the UX vision for Keen digital products, streamline design operations, maintain the Clarity design system and advocate for industry best practices through the UX department’s Center of Excellence.

This role is open to candidates in San Francisco or Chicago. If local to San Francisco, you will be required to be in our San Francisco office 2x/week. If in Chicago, this will be a fully remote role.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Collaborate with the UX Director to align the UX Vision for digital products 
  • Partner with the Product Manager and Engineering Lead to help define the product vision
    and strategy 
  • Work with UX Research, Analytics and Product to consume relevant insights, understand
    customer problems, their unmet needs and design evidence-based and data-driven
    experiences 
  • Perform evaluative research methodologies including: heuristic evaluation, competitive
    analysis, design thinking workshops and usability testing 
  • Develop scenario flows, wire-frames, visual design comps, prototypes and presentations to
    effectively communicate modernized design ideas to the right audience 
  • Translate complex workflows and design system components into elegant conceptual models 
  • Participate in and drive design reviews 
  • Take ownership of your UX design work by performing visual quality assurance to ensure
    front-end engineering translates design specifications accurately 
  • Advocate for accessibility and adhere to ADA compliance in standardized UX operations 
  • Contribute to and maintain the Clarity Design System, ensuring alignment to Google
    Material Design on the UX and Front-end engineering disciplines 
  • Work with a cross-functional team to strategize and build compelling experiences with
    business and user-centric goals, including organizing people and processes for alignment
  • Pitch and present concepts, proposals, and updates to executive stakeholders and translate
    complex concepts and interactions into simple, elegant, and coherent design

What you’ll need to be successful:

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Design or equivalent practical experience
  • 5-8 years of experience in UX Design
  • Experience with Human Computer Interaction (HCI) or computer science
  • Experience with using UX tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Framer, etc.)
  • Experience working across organizational boundaries and collaborating with cross-
    functional teams
  • Knowledgeable of Design to DEV hand-off 
  • Knowledgeable of Material Design System and systems thinking 
  • Up-to-date on the latest design trends 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to turn ideas into functional prototypes
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with the Double-Diamond framework 
  • Familiarity with Lean UX and Agile Methodologies 
  • Ability to analyze light analytics data to inform design decisions

Pay Transparency:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000-$180,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
