Dimitrios Makris

Dimitrios Makris has a wealth of experience in the field of information security and IT. Dimitrios is currently serving as the Information Security & Service Operations Manager for Injazat's Client, a position they started in August 2021. Prior to this, they held various roles at Injazat Data Systems, including Information Security Manager and Information Security Architect, from 2018 to the present.

Before their time at Injazat, Dimitrios worked at C4 Advanced Solutions as an Information Security Architect from August 2017 to December 2017. Dimitrios also worked at Help AG, where they served as a Managing Consultant from February 2016 to April 2017 and as a Senior Strategic Security Consultant from December 2014 to January 2016.

Dimitrios has a long history in the banking sector, having worked at companies such as Alpha Bank and Emporiki Bank. At Alpha Bank, they served as a Senior Information Security Officer from July 2013 to November 2014, where they managed the integration of security infrastructures and systems after a merger. At Emporiki Bank, Dimitrios held several positions, including Head of IT Security Department from 2005 to 2013, Internet & Security Systems Administrator from 2000 to 2005, and Systems Administrator from 1997 to 2000.

Prior to their banking career, Dimitrios worked at ITEC S.A. as a Certified Trainer and Solutions Developer from April 1995 to August 1997.

Throughout their career, Dimitrios Makris has demonstrated expertise in information security, including compliance, governance, risk management, and business continuity. Dimitrios has led teams, delivered projects, designed processes, and implemented state-of-the-art security mechanisms.

Dimitrios Makris has a diverse education history. Dimitrios obtained a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Chicago, where they studied from 1989 to 1992. Prior to this, they attended the Technical Education Institute of Athens from 1984 to 1988, where they earned a degree in Informatics Engineering.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Dimitrios pursued further education by attending The University of Manchester from 1992 to 1993. During this time, they obtained an MSc in Computer Science.

In addition to their formal education, Dimitrios has also acquired several certifications throughout their career. Notably, they obtained the Parallels RAS Technical Professional certification from Alludo in April 2023. Prior to this, they earned the Ethical Hacking: Wireless Networks certification from LinkedIn in March 2019. Other certifications include ITIL Foundation Level in April 2018, CISSP Cert Prep: 1 Security and Risk Management, CISSP Cert Prep: 3 Security Engineering, CISSP Cert Prep: The Basics, and Deploying and Configuring Core TCP/IP Services from LinkedIn, all obtained in June and July 2017.

Dimitrios has also earned certifications such as Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA in October 2012, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) from Microsoft in September 2003, Network Information Security Specialist from MIS Training Institute in October 2002, Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) in September 1998, Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSE) in June 1996, and Microsoft Certified Product Specialist in April 1995.
