Joann Jen has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Joann is currently serving as the Chief Marketing Officer at inKind since October 2022. Prior to this, they co-founded Imprint in 2020, where they aimed to celebrate makers and their craft, connecting them with a wider audience. From 2019 to 2023, Joann worked as an Advisor at WEEKDAYS. Joann has also held leadership positions at Restaurant Brands International as the Global Head of Customer Experience from 2016 to 2019, and at PwC as the Director of Digital Experience from 2012 to 2016. Furthermore, they have served as an Advisory Board member for the Strategic Marketing Program at the University of Washington from 2011 to 2014. Joann's earlier experiences include working at Ant's Eye View, Firmani + Associates Inc., MS&L Worldwide Partner, United Way of King County, and Edelman.

Joann Jen attended the University of Washington from 2001 to 2005, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in Business Administration Accounting and Political Science. Joann later pursued a Certificate in Strategic Marketing Management from the same university in 2008-2009. In 2009-2010, Joann participated in a leadership development program called Leadership Tomorrow.
