Ashwin Hegde

Ashwin Hegde has over 25 years of work experience in finance and accounting roles. Ashwin began their career as a Cost Trainee at Essar Steel in 1991 and later worked as an Executive in Accounts at D C Polyester Pvt. Ltd. In 1994, they joined Apple Industries Ltd. as an Accounts Executive. Ashwin then moved to Mafatlal Industries Limited as a Manager in Corporate Treasury, where they played a significant role in divestment and financial restructuring. In 1999, they joined Afcott Nigeria Ltd. as the Manager of Accounts and Treasury, where they managed finance, banking, and treasury activities. From 2001 to 2002, they served as the Finance and Trading Head at Magna Mining Inc. Ashwin then joined Inlaks as the Manager of Finance and IT at First Aluminium Nigeria Plc, where they led a team and managed various financial functions. In 2004, they worked as the Finance and Commercial Manager at Varomet Services Ltd. before returning to Inlaks as the Group Controller at First Aluminium Nigeria Plc. In 2006, they joined Ernst & Young as a Senior Manager of Finance and Accounts, where they identified opportunities for centralization and standardization. Ashwin then returned to Inlaks in 2013 as the Executive Director of Corporate Finance and Strategy, as well as the CFO of Inlaks Computers Ltd. In this role, they oversaw finance, strategy, and commercial functions, contributed to cultural change initiatives, and devised finance and administration policies.

Ashwin Hegde, ACMA has a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree from the University of Mumbai, which they completed from 1988 to 1991. In 1994, they obtained a certification as a Cost and Works Accountant (CMA) from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. Ashwin furthered their education in 2016 by completing the Advanced Management Programme in Organizational Leadership from The Wharton School. Additionally, they are an Associate Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) certified by CIMA, which they obtained in 2007.
