Christopher Rico

Bioinformatics Scientist at InnerPlant

Christopher Rico has a diverse work experience. Christopher is currently working as a Bioinformatics Scientist at InnerPlant since August 2021. Prior to this, they worked at DuPont Pioneer from November 2012 to January 2017 as a Research Associate. At DuPont Pioneer, they managed experimental design, data collection, and analysis for a large number of transgenic maize plots. Christopher also led high-throughput phenotyping data analysis efforts for drought transgene advancement and implemented an Agile project management framework for the research team. Before that, they worked as a Research Specialist at UC Santa Cruz from June 2010 to December 2012. Christopher started their career as an Immunodiagnostics Technician at Santa Cruz Biotechnology from January 2009 to September 2010.

Christopher Rico completed their education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Plant Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, during the period of 2007 to 2011. Following this, they pursued further studies at Oregon State University and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, spanning from 2017 to 2018. Christopher then went on to Northwestern University, where they completed their Master of Science (MS) degree in Data Science with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence from 2019 to 2021.
