Sigi Neerken

Sigi Neerken has a diverse work experience in the healthcare and diagnostics industry. They are currently the Chief Business Officer and Co-founder of InnoSIGN, a company that commercializes mRNA-based OncoSIGNal pathway activity profiling technology for precision medicine. They oversee the use of OncoSIGNal for research and diagnostics, utilizing a vast database to support drug development.

Prior to their role at InnoSIGN, Neerken worked at Philips for a significant part of their career. They served as the Director of Business Development for Molecular Pathway Dx, where they played a crucial role in driving the business strategy and partnerships for OncoSignal Pathway Activity Profiling tests. These tests quantify the activity of signal transduction pathways and translate molecular data into functional cell behavior for precision medicine.

Before their role in Molecular Pathway Dx, Neerken held various positions in Philips Research. As a Principal Scientist in the Department of Molecular Diagnostics, they contributed extensively to the field. Additionally, as a Senior Scientist in the Departments of Care & Health Applications/Biomedical Photonics, they gained valuable experience in these areas.

Sigi Neerken obtained a PhD in Biophysics from Leiden University, specializing in the study of Pathways of Energy Conversion in Pigment-Protein complexes of Anoxygenic Photosynthetic. Prior to this, they completed their Master's degree in Physics at Leiden University. Sigi began their higher education journey at Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, where they studied Physics for four years. Sigi Neerken's education history started with their completion of Gymnasium Emlichheim & Neuenhaus in Germany. Additionally, Sigi Neerken enrolled in an Executive Master's program in Business Innovation & Entrepreneurship in Life Sciences & Health at Utrecht University, graduating in 2016.
