Diogo Fernandes Thomaz

Diogo Fernandes Thomaz has a diverse work experience, starting with their current position as MD and VP of Aquaculture Farm Software at Innovasea starting in 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Guest Professor at Universidade do Algarve since 2006. In 2012, Diogo co-founded Aquanetix, a cloud-based software application for the aquaculture industry that focuses on improving product/market fit and ensuring accessibility and usefulness for farm managers. Before that, they worked as a Country Sales Manager at RealSales Ltd from 2007 to 2022, where they built technological trade networks and developed successful relationships. Diogo also has experience as a Freelance Contributor at Hatchery International from 2005 to 2019 and as an R&D Project Manager at Selonda Aquaculture SA from 1999 to 2004. Diogo started their career as a Post Doctoral Researcher at the University of Athens from 1997 to 1999, specializing in genetics.

Diogo Fernandes Thomaz's education history begins in 1985 when they enrolled at Universidade do Porto. Diogo pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology and Aquaculture, which took him four years to complete, concluding in 1989. Following this, from 1989 to 1993, they attended the University of Leicester to obtain a PhD in Behavioural Ecology. Several years later, in 2006 to 2007, Diogo pursued further education at ALBA Graduate Business School, where they completed a P-MBA degree in Business Studies.
