Jennie Korus has a diverse work history, starting in 2010 as a Banquet Server and Recreation Attendant at Delta Hotels & Resorts, where they worked until 2015. Jennie then became an Outdoor Recreation and Dorm Leader at The Whale Camp for a brief period in 2015. In the same year, Jennie also worked as a Research Assistant at Dalhousie University.
In 2016, Jennie became an Ocean Science and Technology Specialist at SuperNOVA, followed by a Mathematics Teacher position at Echo English from 2016 to 2017. In addition, they participated in the Visiting Students Research Program at KAUST from March to May 2017.
From June to August 2017, Jennie served as an Environmental Monitoring Program Summer Student at the Nova Scotia Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture. Following this role, they joined Innovasea in 2018 as an Ocean Technologist and has since transitioned into their current position as an Aquaculture Scientist since November 2019.
Jennie Korus has a strong educational background in the field of marine science and oceanography. Jennie obtained their Master's degree in Oceanography from Dalhousie University, which they pursued from 2019 to 2024. Prior to that, they completed an Advanced Diploma in Ocean Technology at Nova Scotia Community College - NSCC from 2017 to 2018. In their earlier years, Jennie attended Dalhousie University again to earn a Bachelor of Science degree with Honours in Marine Biology and Statistics, which they accomplished between 2012 and 2016. Jennie began their academic journey at Harbord Collegiate Institute, where they received their High School Diploma in 2012.
