Larry MacVicar has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Larry began their career as a Jr. Mechanical Technologist at SPAR Aerospace, System AI&T in 1996. Larry then worked as a Manufacturing Transfer Specialist at JDS Fitel Inc. in 1997. Larry joined Computing Devices Canada (now General Dynamics) in 1998 as an Intermediate Designer. From 2000 to 2001, they worked as a Mechanical Designer at Chrysalis-ITS. Larry then moved to First Air in 2001 as a Mechanical Designer, where they redesigned the interior of the ATR 42 turbo prop airplane. In 2002, Larry joined EMCON Emanation Control as a Senior Product Designer and Product Design Manager. Larry managed projects and a team of engineering professionals while creating electronic packaging designs. Larry's next venture was at Cobham Surveillance in 2006, where they started as a Senior Mechanical Designer for search and rescue (SAR) beacon development and became the Mechanical Technology Lead. Larry was responsible for all mechanical design material, equipment, and the CNC prototype lab. Currently, Larry is working at GeoSpectrum as a Mechanical Designer since 2013. Larry also works at Innovasea as a Mechanical Designer since 2017.
Larry MacVicar attended Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology from 1992 to 1995, where they obtained a Diploma of Technology in Mechanical Engineering.
