Ruchi Shinde

Ruchi Shinde has a strong background in software development and teaching.

In 2019, Ruchi worked as an Intern at Digit Insurance where they conducted research and development on open-source technologies and assisted in the development and testing of bots and APIs. Ruchi then transitioned into a role as a Graduate Engineering Trainee, where they integrated WhatsApp as a communication channel for customers, resulting in immediate responses to common queries and a reduction in manual work for customer care teams.

In 2020, Ruchi was promoted to a Junior Software Engineer at Digit Insurance, where they developed and managed a multiprocessing bot for automated ticket creation by reading emails. Ruchi collaborated with a team of five members and worked closely with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.

In 2021, Ruchi became a Software Engineer at Digit Insurance, working on an in-house CRM tool and an Asset Management tool. Ruchi was involved in all phases of application setup, development, testing, and deployment. Their work resulted in annual savings of up to INR 10M for the company. Additionally, they built a chatbot using the Botpress conversational AI framework.

In 2022, Ruchi joined Dalhousie University as a Teaching Assistant at the Centre for Learning and Teaching. Ruchi also served as a Head Teaching Assistant for the course CSCI 3130 - Software Engineering, managing a team of eight Teaching Assistants and assisting the professor in course preparation. Ruchi conducted lab tutorials for approximately 150 students and evaluated their assignments for the course CSCI 5308 - Advanced Software Development.

In 2022, Ruchi worked as a Software Development Intern at Nuance Communications, where they developed robust and high-quality webservices using Spring Boot. Ruchi performed unit tests on webservices, utilized mock objects to inject dependencies, and packaged microservice applications as containers for deployment to Kubernetes using Helm charts.

In 2023, Ruchi will be starting a role as a Software Developer at Innovasea.

Ruchi Shinde has a strong educational background in computer science. Ruchi holds a Master of Applied Computer Science from Dalhousie University, which they pursued from 2021 to 2023. Prior to their master's degree, Ruchi completed their Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Savitribai Phule Pune University, where they studied from 2015 to 2019.

Before entering college, Ruchi completed their higher secondary education at Mahaveer Junior College, specializing in Science. Ruchi completed their secondary education at Sinhgad City School in 2013.

In addition to their formal education, Ruchi has obtained certifications in Python Basics from Udemy in March 2019 and MongoDB Basics from MongoDB in October 2018.
