Ken Hayes is an experienced executive and entrepreneur with a strong background in venture capital and business development. As Executive Director of Cleantech Open since June 2017, Ken leads efforts to support entrepreneurs addressing critical energy and environmental challenges. Co-founding Canyon Creek Capital's Fund II, Ken focuses on technology investments in Southern California. Involved with the USC Viterbi Venture Fund as a member of the Investment Committee, Ken assists early-stage startups connected to USC. Ken also contributes to the Advisory Board of Innovation Centre Denmark in Silicon Valley and serves as a Board Director Emeritus with Pasadena Angels, specializing in sourcing investments and mentoring. As the founder of Toluca Media LLC, Ken manages a portfolio of digital assets and provides consulting. Previous roles include adjunct instructor for the National Science Foundation’s Innovation Corps and leadership positions in various media companies. Ken holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship from INSEAD and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Pomona College.
