Sean Carr

Sean Carr has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Sean is currently serving as the Vice President Risk and Compliance at Innovation Credit Union, where they manage the Risk and Compliance functions. Prior to this, they held the position of Vice President of Risk Management and Risk Manager at the same company.

Before joining Innovation Credit Union, Carr worked as a Business Risk Manager at M&G plc, where they played a pivotal role in rebuilding the investment business's risk structures and processes after the company's demerger from Prudential.

From 2014 to 2020, Carr worked at Prudential Portfolio Managers as the Head of Retail Client Services, where they transformed an operational team into a top-tier client service team.

In 2006, Carr joined Allan Gray Proprietary Limited as a Risk Manager, where they played a key role in maturing the risk team's oversight. Sean also served as a Senior Risk Analyst, Risk Analyst, Operations Manager, Team Leader, Projects Specialist, and Quality Assurance Specialist within the same company, showcasing their wide range of expertise and contributions.

Early in their career, Carr worked as a Project Finance Analyst at MediTech Media and Data Analyst at A.T. Kearney.

Throughout their career, Carr has consistently demonstrated their ability to drive transformation, implement effective risk management processes, and improve operational efficiency.

Sean Carr obtained a Bachelor of Business Science degree in Finance and Economics, as well as a Bachelor of Business Science degree in Finance and Financial Management Services, both from the University of Cape Town. Sean also completed a Management programme through the Allan Gray Leadership Programme. Sean further pursued a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning and Services at Milpark Business School. In addition to their formal education, they obtained a certification in Critical Thinking from LinkedIn in 2021.
