Junior Designer

As we grow our team, we currently are seeking a new member for the role of Junior Designer in our corporate office Design Studio. Our ideal candidate is creative and visual while also excellent at project management. Candidates should understand, and be interested in, all aspects of interior design.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Develop unique patterns/artwork for Wallcoverings that are marketable for either hospitality or
  residential clientele.

• Assist the design team with concept, material, and trend research.

• Develop color palettes that are based on sales information and trend direction.

• Understand manufacturing and material processes for product development.

• Communicate with our manufacturers to ensure production and prototype standards are
  maintained.

• Assist with our custom design work which includes modifying existing Innovations designs
  through color and scale adjustments, adapting purchased artwork to suit the client's vision.

• Should be well-versed in Adobe Photoshop to create print ready files.

Success in this position is achieved when individual(s) possess the following skill set:

• 0-2+ years of experience in print, wallcoverings, textile, interior design, or related field.

• BFA in textile, illustration, interior design, or related field.

• Must live in New York and be available to come into the office a minimum of 2 days a week.

• Strong aesthetic and design understanding.

• Proficient in Adobe Suite (Photoshop is necessary) and color correction tools.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Highly organized, motivated with the ability to multi-task.
