Shamika Soysa

Shamika Soysa has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Shamika started their career in 2001 as an IT Officer at the Ministry of External Affairs of Sri Lanka, where they were involved in library administration and Local Area Network operations. In 2004, they joined ESOFT Metro Campus as a Senior Lecturer and BIT Coordinator, teaching and coordinating BIT and BCS programs.

In 2005, Shamika moved to Holcim, where they worked as an IT Operations Specialist. Their responsibilities included managing Lotus Domino and SAP systems, as well as serving as the Content Manager for Holcim Lanka's intranet. After two years, they joined the Sri Lanka Army as an IT Officer, overseeing the Army Data Centre and Data Network. Shamika also worked on the "Police Information and Communication System" project as a team member appointed by the Ministry of Defence.

Since 2013, Shamika has been with Innovative-e, Inc., initially joining as a Project Manager and later becoming a Senior Project Manager. In their role, they have led the implementation of ISO 27001 Information Security processes and practices, as well as spearheaded the company's growth from 25+ engineers to 50+. Shamika provides consultancy services to government and private organizations in project management tools and change management, while also serving as the Head of Delivery for ongoing projects with a diverse client base.

Shamika Soysa's education history can be summarized as follows:

Shamika started their education at Sri Sumangala College, Panadura, where they completed their General Certificate of Education (G. C. E.) (O/L) from 1984 to 1994.

Shamika then attended Royal College Colombo from 1995 to 1997 and obtained their G.C.E. Advance Level with a focus on Mathematics.

In 2001, Shamika enrolled at the University of Colombo and pursued a Bachelor of Information Technology degree, completing it in 2004.

Later, they returned to the University of Colombo for further studies and completed a Master of Business Studies (MBS) degree in the field of Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from 2016 to 2017.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Shamika has obtained several certifications. In 2012, they earned the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. Shamika also holds a Six Sigma White Belt Certificate of Achievement from the Aveta Business Institute, obtained in May 2015. Furthermore, they achieved the Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification from 6Sigma Services and the Scrum Fundamentals Certified (SFC) certification from SCRUMstudy - Accreditation Body for Scrum and Agile in August 2015 and May 2015, respectively.
