GianCarlo Montiel

GianCarlo Montiel has a diverse work experience in the field of biomedical engineering. GianCarlo worked at Innovative Health LLC as a Quality Engineer for medical devices starting in June 2021. Prior to that, they were a Quality Engineer at Abbott from October 2020 to May 2021, where they were responsible for technical documentation, product issue investigations, and reporting to the FDA.

GianCarlo also gained experience through internships. GianCarlo was a Drug Delivery & Biomedical Devices Intern and Student Success Intern at the University of California, Merced from August 2019 to July 2020. During this time, they performed Finite Element Method (FEM) simulations to study eye drug delivery prototypes and underwent training in 3D bioprinting equipment. GianCarlo also worked as a Biochemistry Research Intern at Indiana University Bloomington for two months in 2019, where they focused on developing and screening a mutant library for NMR assignment of amino acids.

Additionally, GianCarlo had previous experience at the University of California, Merced. GianCarlo worked as a Materials for Biomedicine Assistant from May 2018 to January 2019, where they performed CAD modeling and characterization of eye drug delivery prototypes. GianCarlo also served as a Materials for Biomedicine Intern from August 2017 to June 2018, where they were involved in CAD modeling, characterization of prototypes, and presenting updates on the research progress.
