Alaric Castain

Alaric Castain has a diverse work experience in the field of technology, with a focus on project management, cyber security, and network engineering.

Alaric started their career at Colorado State University as a Helpdesk Technician, providing hardware and software support to university staff and students. During this time, they also worked as a Network Consultant, setting up and maintaining wireless networks for small apartment buildings.

Following that, Alaric joined Hewlett-Packard as a Network Support Technician, where they provided support on HP ProCurve switches, routers, wireless products, and network management utilities.

In 2013, they transitioned to become a Network Engineer at an undisclosed company. During this role, they gained experience in network administration and troubleshooting.

Alaric then joined InquisIT in 2020, first as a Cyber Security Engineer. In this position, they assisted with advanced configurations and streamlined processes to enhance security measures for the USDA APHIS environment. Alaric also managed and maintained Checkpoint Firewalls and IPS/IDS systems, created custom SIEM dashboards, and conducted vulnerability scanning. Additionally, they served as a Cyber Security Incident handler and Firewall Admin, implementing and configuring advanced firewall policies.

Later, they became the Deputy Project Manager at InquisIT, supporting the program manager in various tasks such as employee onboarding and off-boarding, time sheet management, and development of performance reviews. Alaric also handled administrative duties related to the management of the USDA team and prepared monthly reports for the contract.

Alaric Castain began their education at The Ohio State University in 2004 and attended for one year before transferring to Colorado State University in 2005. At Colorado State University, they pursued studies in an unspecified field but did not obtain a degree. Afterward, from 2010 to 2012, Alaric attended Front Range Community College, where they earned an Associates Degree in Computer Information Systems and Computer Networking.

In addition to their formal education, Alaric has obtained several certifications. In 2013, they obtained the CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification, as well as the Cisco Certified Networking Professional - Enterprise and Cisco Certified Specialist - Enterprise Advanced Infrastructure Implementation certifications. Alaric also holds the ITIL v3 certification from Global Knowledge, obtained in 2018, and the CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner ce Certification, obtained in 2020.
