Sergey Safonov

Sergey Safonov is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the edtech and science sectors. Currently serving as co-founder and COO of Seneka since July 2023, Sergey focuses on marketing, finance, HR, operations, and networking to promote social-emotional learning for children. Additionally, Sergey mentors EdTech founders on strategy and market insights while co-founding MEL Science in 2014, where responsibilities include managing multiple operational structures and driving growth through innovation in science education. As the founder of the International Natural Sciences Tournament, Sergey has positively impacted over 5,500 participants through competitive events in natural sciences. Sergey's academic credentials include a PhD and MSc in chemistry and materials science from Saint Petersburg State University, complemented by experience as a junior lecturer and co-founder of a science recruitment platform.
