Johanna Alonso

Johanna Alonso is a dedicated journalist with diverse experience in reporting and editing. Currently serving as a Student Life Reporter for Inside Higher Ed since September 2022, Alonso previously worked as a Business Reporter for The Daily Record and held an internship at Richmond Times-Dispatch focusing on general assignments. Academic experience includes serving as an Editorial Intern for UMBC Magazine and roles at The Retriever Weekly, managing writers as both News Editor and Student Life Editor. Alonso has also contributed as a Theatre Reviewer for MDTheatreGuide and held various internships related to publishing and research. A graduate of the University of Maryland Baltimore County with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Media and Communication Studies, Alonso brings strong writing, editing, and communication skills to the field.
