Zeinab Farokhi, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto since September 2015, where contributions also include serving as a Teaching Assistant. In addition, Zeinab has held the role of Postdoctoral Research Fellow at SSHRC-CRSH since September 2021 and was a Gender Advisor at Global Affairs Canada from October 2022 to January 2024, providing analyses on gender equality in project proposals. Zeinab served as an SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellow at Concordia University's Department of Communication Studies from August 2022 to January 2024 and coordinated research at the Virani Dream Team from September 2014 to September 2022. Early experience includes volunteer work with Teach For India and an internship at the Asmita Resource Centre for Women. Zeinab's academic credentials include a Doctorate in Women's Studies from the University of Toronto and Masters degrees from both the University of Toronto (Women & Gender Studies) and Osmania University (Sociology), as well as a Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Isfahan.
