Sue Grepper, PhD

Sue Grepper, PhD, has over 24 years of work experience in the field of pharmaceutical and biotech research. Sue is currently serving as the West Coast Director of Business Development at InSphero since June 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as a Scientific Ambassador at InSphero from January 2021 to August 2022, and as a Senior Application Scientist from September 2016 to January 2021. In these roles, they collaborated with researchers throughout the US, specializing in liver toxicity and disease, metabolic diseases, and oncology. Sue provided assistance to scientists using InSphero's 3D microtissues in their labs and contributed to the design of studies using partner therapeutics.

Before joining InSphero, Sue worked at Life Technologies as a Senior Field Scientist from January 2008 to September 2016. In this position, they worked closely with DMPK, ADME, and TOX groups in pharma and biotech, designing studies using primary hepatocytes. Sue also provided guidance for stem cell research using Life Technologies' iPSC research tools, where they developed a novel method for transfecting primary hepatocytes with siRNA.

Prior to Life Technologies, Sue held the role of Senior Technical Scientist at Celsis (In Vitro Technologies) from February 2002 to January 2008. Here, they collaborated with DMPK, ADME, and TOX groups in pharma and biotech, designing studies using primary hepatocytes. Sue also provided guidance for other in vitro models, including Caco2 cells, microsomes, and S9 fraction.

Sue began their career as a Staff Scientist at Novartis (TorreyMesaResearchInstitute) from February 2001 to February 2002.

Sue Grepper, PhD, holds a post-doctoral fellowship in neuroscience, specifically focusing on Alzheimer's disease, from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Sue also obtained a PhD in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson. Prior to that, they earned a BS in Mathematics and Chemistry from State University of New York.
