Daniel Carrión has a diverse and extensive work history in various roles and industries. Daniel began their career in 2002 as a Team Leader and Software Engineer at Yaco Sistemas, where they were also a member of the Board of Directors. From there, they worked as a Software Engineer at Alvarion, specializing in embedded software development for WiMAX base stations.
In 2009, Daniel became the CTO of Wellness Telecom, where they led the technological strategy of the company and established the software and systems engineering team. In 2011, they briefly owned their own company called LearnStories before transitioning to Freelancer as a Software Engineer.
Daniel joined CARTO in 2015 and held various roles, including Director of Solutions Engineering and Technical Director, Strategic Solutions and Data. Daniel coordinated teams and collaborated with external partners to develop vertical solutions on the CARTO platform.
In 2019, Daniel joined uDA. urbanData Analytics as the Backend Tech Lead, redefining the backend and infrastructure strategies. Daniel later became the Director of Engineering and Solutions, ensuring a healthy working environment for software and data engineers.
Daniel then moved on to Teach[Tech] in 2020 as a Mentor and Teacher, helping newcomers in software development by preparing course materials and providing teaching and mentoring support.
In 2020, Daniel also became the VP of Engineering at Inspide, contributing to the development of their Portall MVP and preparing the company for growth.
Currently, Daniel is working at Inspide as the Chief Product and Technology Officer, leading the Product and Technology/Engineering functions and helping the company transition to a fully-fledged software product. Additionally, they serve on the Advisory Board for DevNetwork, providing management and API World advice.
Daniel Carrión earned a degree equivalent to a Master of Science in Telecommunications from the Universidad de Sevilla, where they studied from 1996 to 2003. Prior to that, they obtained a Certificate in Advanced English from the University of Cambridge in June 1995, and a First Certificate in English from the same institution in June 1994.
