Joan Burns has over 30 years of work experience in various HR leadership roles. Joan is currently working as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Treliant, where they oversee all HR disciplines for full-time staff, project-based staff, and independent consultants. Prior to this, Joan served as a Consultant and Interim Chief People Officer at Inspire Human Resources, where they provided HR consulting services to Fortune 500 companies and startups.
Before joining Inspire Human Resources, Joan worked at IDB Bank as the EVP of HR and Internal Communications, where they spearheaded the People and Culture transformation for the entire organization. Joan managed a team of HR professionals and supported multiple locations, including Latin America and Israel.
Joan also has a significant tenure at HSBC, where they held various senior HR leadership roles. Joan served as the Head of Human Resources for the US Commercial Bank and the Head of Recruitment for the EMEA region. Additionally, they led the North America Resourcing division and played a key role in global HR transformation efforts.
Throughout their career, Joan has demonstrated expertise in talent acquisition, employee engagement, HR operations, and HR compliance. Joan has successfully navigated different industries, including banking, technology, and education.
Joan Burns completed their Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, and Operations from the University of Phoenix, from the year 2010 to 2013. Later on, they pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General, from the University of Phoenix, from 2014 to 2016.
