Soroush Sobhkhiz

Soroush Sobhkhiz is a Machine Learning Engineer II at Instacart, focusing on Ads Quality, Response Prediction, and Recommendation Systems since July 2025. Previously, Soroush worked as a Data Scientist at Adaptis (August 2023 - July 2025) and as a Data Scientist and NLP Engineer at the University of Toronto (September 2019 - August 2023), where collaboration with cross-functional teams enabled the development of a multi-dimensional classification framework utilizing PySpark, NLTK, spaCy, and Hugging Face Transformers. Prior experience includes research and teaching assistant roles at the University of Toronto and the University of Tehran, with a focus on exploring relationships within complex data and instructional support for various engineering subjects. Soroush holds a PhD in Machine Learning in Construction from the University of Toronto, as well as a master's and bachelor's degree from the University of Tehran in Information Systems in Construction and civil engineering, respectively.
