Kousik Rajesh

Kousik Rajesh is a Machine Learning Engineer at Pinterest since February 2024, focusing on scaling transformers, model efficiency, and heterogeneous graph representation learning within the Applied Science team. Prior to this, Kousik served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University from August 2023 to March 2024 for courses in Federated Learning and Machine Learning with Large Datasets. Kousik also completed a Machine Learning Internship at Pinterest in the summer of 2023, where contributions included developing a hierarchical transformer-based edge prediction model for heterogeneous graph embeddings in recommender systems. Kousik's earlier experience includes a Software Developer Internship at D. E. Shaw India Private Limited, where statistical models for processing large datasets were developed, and a Research Internship at UNSW focused on advancing genetic programming approaches for project scheduling. Kousik holds a Master of Science in Machine Learning from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati.
