Ted Hawkins

Ted Hawkins has a diverse range of work experience spanning several industries. Ted is currently the Product Director at Instem since February 2023. Prior to this, they held various roles at The Edge Software Consultancy Ltd from 2005 to 2023, including Portfolio Manager, Head of Service Delivery, Chief Operating Officer, and Company Director & Principal Biology Consultant. At The Edge, they primarily worked as a product manager on scientific software, provided independent software consultancy to drug discovery companies, and developed products like BioRails, BioRails4Office, and Morphit. Before joining The Edge, Ted worked at IDBS from 1997 to 2005, where they held positions such as Product Manager, Development Manager, and Application Consultant. Ted also briefly worked as a Contract Application Consultant at Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research in 2005. Ted started their career as a Medical Sales Rep at Innovex in 1997 and worked as a Research Assistant at Nottingham University from 1995 to 1996.

Ted Hawkins has a strong educational background in the field of environmental science, specifically focusing on physics, entomology, pollution, and environmental control. Ted first pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from The University of Manchester, completing their studies from 1987 to 1990. Following this, Hawkins obtained a Master of Science degree in Pollution and Environmental Control from the same institution, studying between 1990 and 1991. Their educational journey culminated in a PhD in Environmental Physics and Entomology, which they obtained from the University of Nottingham, where they studied from 1992 to 1995.
