Jazz M. Caldwell

Jazz M. Caldwell, PHR has over 20 years of experience in human resources. Currently, Jazz is the Senior Director of HR Operations at Instil Bio, where they oversee HR operations. Prior to this role, Jazz served as the Head of People Operations at Calithera Biosciences from 2018 to 2022. In this position, Jazz designed and maintained the strategic human resource plan and cultivated relationships with staff and managers.

Before joining Calithera Biosciences, Jazz worked as a Senior Manager of Human Resources at Tricida, Inc. from 2017 to 2018. Prior to Vendini, Jazz held the position of Head of Human Resources at XDx (now CareDx, Inc.) from 2012 to 2014. In this role, Jazz provided core HR services, collaborated with the finance team, and directed recruitment activities.

Jazz also has experience as a Senior HR Consultant at Ipsen and MedImmune from 2010 to 2012, managing HR policies and procedures and supporting employee relations.

Earlier in their career, Jazz worked as an HR Manager at Stiefel Laboratories, Inc. from 2005 to 2009, and as an HR Generalist at InterMune from 2000 to 2005.

Jazz M. Caldwell, PHR, pursued a higher education from 2013 to 2018, attending the University of Phoenix. While there, they focused their studies on Human Resources Management and Services. In addition to their academic achievements, Jazz holds a Professional in Human Resources Certification (PHR), which they obtained from the HR Certification Institute.
