Mariona Carós Roca

Mariona Carós Roca is a Data Scientist at the Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya since December 2023 and has been a Lecturer at DataScienceUB since January 2022, teaching an introductory course on Data Science and Machine Learning. Mariona has also served as a lab instructor in deep learning models at UPC School since February 2021 and was a youth mentor for the EduCaixa Challenge organized by Fundación "la Caixa" in May 2022. Previous experience includes working as a Data Scientist at Telefónica, where Mariona applied machine learning techniques for anomaly detection and contributed to patent development, as well as a Research Assistant focusing on time series anomaly detection using neural networks. Mariona's early career included a Research Internship at Vodafone, developing neural network systems for cognitive therapy, and an internship at everis, working on web application development. Mariona is currently a PhD Candidate at Universitat de Barcelona, specializing in 3D Modeling with Deep Learning, and holds a Master of Engineering in Telecommunications Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
