Pr Emmanuel Petit, Rector of the Catholic Institute of Paris, was elected in March 2021 by the Assembly of Founding Bishops of the ICP. He succeeded Professor Philippe Bordeyne.
Professor Emmanuel Petit has extensive experience in the world of higher education and research. Graduated with a canonical license from the ICP in canon law, he also holds a doctorate in canon law from the Gregorian University of Rome. Since 2011, he has been teaching matrimonial law, then ministry law at the Faculty of Canon Law of the ICP. He also teaches at the Notre-Dame Faculty of the Collège des Bernardins, of which he was President from 2019 to 2021.
Emmanuel Petit takes over the management of the ICP at a particularly stimulating stage in its history. The opening of the Maison de la Recherche, a new space dedicated to research, and the opening of the first campus in the ICP region, in Reims, make this a period rich in projects and new dynamics.
