Carlo Leto is a PhD candidate at the Institut du Cerveau – Paris Brain Institute since November 2023, focusing on the causal characterization and manipulation of local cortical rhythms related to executive functions and mind-wandering through non-invasive brain stimulation techniques. Prior experience includes a research internship at NeuroSchool investigating neural encoding in auditory perception, a research internship at Utrecht University examining rhythmic oscillations in visual working memory, and a short project at UMC Utrecht on hyperparameter optimization for psychosis prognosis prediction. Carlo began as a student research assistant at Leiden University, studying alertness and cognitive control. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Neuroscience from Sorbonne Université (2023-2026), a Master of Science in Neuroscience & Cognition from Utrecht University (2020-2022), and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Leiden University (2017-2020).
