Kimberly Fairman

The Institute for Circumpolar Health Research (ICHR) is a northern-led non-profit organization based in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. We support community-driven, ethical, and culturally relevant research that promotes health and wellness across the North and the circumpolar region. We work collaboratively with Indigenous governments, northern communities, and researchers to elevate local voices, generate meaningful evidence, and influence policy and programs that improve health equity. Our work spans a wide range of topics, including mental health, land-based healing, food security, youth engagement, and health systems innovation. Through partnerships, capacity building, and community knowledge sharing, we aim to strengthen wellness and resilience in the North—on the land, in policy, and in practice.
