Leanne Kealoha Fox

Leanne Kealoha Fox, PhD, serves as the Climate Change Commissioner for the City and County of Honolulu since September 2024, following a unanimous confirmation by The City Council. As President of the Institute for Climate and Peace, Dr. Kealoha Fox addresses environmental challenges impacting peace globally. In their role at AlohaCare, Dr. Kealoha Fox leads healthcare transformation initiatives focusing on social determinants of health and serves as the Native Hawaiian Cultural Liaison. Additionally, Dr. Kealoha Fox holds leadership positions with the Obama Foundation and has been involved in academia at various institutions, including the University of Hawaii, where contributions to social work and biomedical sciences are notable. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Biomedical Sciences and advanced certifications in diversity, equity, and leadership.
