Carl E.L. Foss is an experienced researcher specializing in battery technology and electrochemistry. Currently serving as a Researcher in Battery Technology at Institutt for energiteknikk since June 2018, Foss focuses on developing advanced Li-ion batteries using Silicon as anode material. Prior to this role, Foss was a Senior Research Scientist at Graphene Batteries AS, where the development of cathode materials for lithium-sulfur batteries was undertaken. A post-doctoral researcher at NTNU from August 2009 to January 2017, Foss worked on materials for photofixation of nitrogen and conducted research on Li-ion battery performance and fuel cells. Educational achievements include a Master of Business Administration in Strategy and Management from Handelshøgskolen, a PhD in Li-ion batteries, and a Master of Science in Electrocatalysts for water electrolysis, all from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
