Kelsey Pierce

Chief of Staff at Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation

Kelsey Pierce, BA, is Chief of Staff at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME). In this role, she manages relationships with IHME’s Board and Scientific Oversight Group. She is a central point of contact for the Directors of Regional Initiatives, staffs key external meetings, provides advice and facilitation on key collaborative opportunities, and helps to efficiently and strategically respond to both internal and external requests for varying types of engagement for IHME’s Director and IHME overall.

Kelsey joined IHME soon after its inception. As a Project Officer, she managed international projects, turning intellectual agendas set by researchers into actionable work plans. She also served as the primary liaison to the Institute’s governance boards and organized special projects and events of Institute-wide importance, including the Global Health Metrics and Evaluation conference.

Kelsey earned her BA in Latin American Studies and Politics from Scripps College.

IHME was established in 2007 at the University of Washington. Its mission is to improve health through better health evidence.
