Meghan Mooney

Director, Engagement at Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation

Meghan joined IHME in December 2012 as a project officer focused primarily on verbal autopsy. Her role later expanded to manage the demographics and HIV research teams. She oversaw the paper production for many of the Global Burden of Disease 2013 scientific publications, became an an integral part of the GBD management team for GBD 2015, as well as managed subnational analyses and country collaborations with Brazil, Georgia, and New Zealand, among others. She also took on the running of the fledgling Center for Health Trends and Forecasts and became a go-to instructor for our GBD training programs, conducting workshops in Georgia, Brazil and IHME's annual intensive training in Greece. Meghan Mooney took on the role of the Senior Engagement Manager on the Global Engagement Team in 2016. Meghan helped design and build the Network Engagement Team within Global Engagement, creating new processes for reaching out to and forming relationships with countries, organizing our tracking of engagements, and driving IHME toward more effective collaboration with the more than 2,100 researchers who contribute to the Global Burden of Disease. She now sits as Assistant Director of Engagement.
