Sharene Azimi

Sharene Azimi serves as the Communications Director at the Institute for Nonprofit News since April 2020. Previously, Sharene was the Principal at Mission Communications from August 2010 to March 2020, leading a consultancy focused on strategic communications and branding. Prior to this role, Sharene was the Vice President at Fenton Communications from October 2006 to August 2010, where significant contributions included expanding the branding practice and managing high-profile rebranding projects. Sharene also held the position of Senior Web Producer at Columbia University from 2001 to 2006, overseeing the brand development of the university’s main gateway site. Sharene Azimi holds a Master of Science in Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Science in Society/Film from Wesleyan University.
