Jake Dunagan

Jake Dunagan serves as an Adjunct Professor at The University of Texas at Austin, where Design Futures courses are crafted for the School of Design and Creative Technologies and the MA in Design in Health program. In addition, Jake is the Director of the Governance Futures Lab at the Institute for the Future, a position held since July 2017. Prior academic roles include Adjunct Professor at California College of the Arts, teaching courses in Strategic Foresight and Foresight Tools and Techniques from 2011 to 2021. Previous experience includes leadership in foresight and experiential futures at verynice design studio and futures research as Research Director at the Institute for the Future. Jake’s academic background encompasses a Ph.D. in Political Science with a focus on futures studies from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, an MA in Anthropology of Visual Communication from Temple University, and a BA in Anthropology/Media from Auburn University.
