Sven Smets

Sven Smets currently serves as the Global Head of S&OP and Master Data at Oterra since October 2022. With extensive experience in supply chain and demand planning, Sven held various leadership roles at PETRONAS Lubricants International, including Global Network Planning & Optimization Manager and Group Process Excellence Manager, where responsibilities encompassed establishing global planning standards and leading the implementation of integrated planning applications. Sven has been an active speaker with the Institute of Business Forecasting and Planning since 2014, presenting notable sessions on S&OP projects. Earlier career positions include Demand & Forecasting Specialist at Wolf Oil Corporation, Supply Chain Planner at Omega Pharma, and demand planning roles at BASF, SC Johnson, and Black&Decker. Sven is also a founder and owner of samacom, focusing on operational business aspects. Educational qualifications include a Harvard ManageMentor degree from Harvard Business School and a Certified Professional Forecaster certification from the Institute of Business Forecasting & Planning.
