Senior Mass Spectrometer Technician at GNS Science

Chris is originally from North Carolina (USA), where he earned a B.A. (with Honors) in Geology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Subsequently, he worked as a preparation chemist and mass spectroscopy analyst / operator at an environmental chemistry laboratory for nearly a decade. Chris then began a PhD in Earth System Science at the University of California, Irvine, after which he came to the University of Waikato (Hamilton, New Zealand) as a postdoc. He joined the Stable Isotope Laboratory at GNS Science in 2022. As a specialist in stable isotope mass spectrometry at GNS Science, Chris hopes to continue building his career by involving research and the communication of science alongside growing technical expertise.
