Christina Magill is an experienced professional in natural hazard risk modelling, currently serving as the Risk Science Team Leader at GNS Science since March 2020. Prior to this role, Christina was the founder of Jolt Analytics and held positions at Macquarie University, including Senior Research Fellow at Risk Frontiers and Vice-Chancellor's Innovation Fellow. Notable research includes volcanic hazard modelling, probabilistic tephra dispersal modelling, and hail hazard assessments. Christina has contributed to the development of various natural hazard loss models, such as the VolcaNZ tephra loss model for New Zealand and a probabilistic volcanic loss model for Greater Tokyo. Christina holds a PhD in Natural Hazards from Macquarie University, a Graduate Diploma in Public Health from Victoria University, and Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Geological and Earth Sciences from The University of Waikato.
