Florent Aden is an experienced R&D Data Scientist at GNS Science since December 2021, with prior roles as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Southern California. At MIT, Florent developed a scalable machine learning model for identifying aftershock sequences, while at USC, Florent created the first catalog of Low-Frequency Earthquakes in New Zealand using innovative methods that combined template-matching and unsupervised learning. Educational background includes a PhD in Geophysics and Seismology from Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris, a Master's degree in Geophysics and Seismology from Université Paris Diderot, and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Université Côte d'Azur. Additional experience includes serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and an Outreach Specialist, contributing to both academic and community engagement.
