Seismic Hazard Modeller at GNS Science

Tatiana Goded is a Seismologist, specialised on Seismic Hazard. Her main research topics are macroseismology, shaking layers, historical seismicity and vulnerability analysis of heritage buildings. She is an expert on assigning intensities from online felt reports. She is the administrator of GeoNet’s “Felt Classic” and “Felt Detailed” felt reports. She is currently the Project Leader of the “Shaking Layers” project, a collaborative project between GeoNet, GNS Science, the NGMC and MBIE Endeavour R-CET project, whose aim is to provide near real-time shaking intensity maps following a damaging earthquake in New Zealand, to be used by emergency managers and decision-makers. She is passionate about her job and loves to work for the benefit of the New Zealand people.
